The Limestone Heritage Festival is an annual festival that celebrates Lawrence County’s rich limestone heritage and is the culmination of a month-long “Limestone Month” celebration each June.  Food vendors, live entertainment on the Harp Commons Stage, Limestone Carving Exhibit  at the Downtown Depot, Bedford Farmers Market, the Limestone Heritage Festival Parade & Fireworks display are all featured in the heart of Downtown Bedford.

A variety of food vendors will be featured on the J Street section of the Downtown Square!
We do not have retail vendors (outside of the Bedford Farmers Market).  Only food trucks.  Please shop our Downtown businesses and Farmers Market. We are at capacity for food truck vendors at this time.

Craft Vendor Market

The craft vendor market will be conducted Saturday only, June 28th from 8am to 4pm.  HANDMADE crafts only!

Limestone Heritage Festival Parade

Limestone Heritage Festival Parade steps off Saturday at 6pm , but be sure to join us at 16th & I Street for the Flag Raising Ceremony at 5:30pm beforehand.

2025 Parade Grand Marshal

​The Limestone Heritage Festival Committee is proud to honor Dan Bortner as the Grand Marshal of the 2025 Limestone Heritage Festival Parade. A lifelong public servant, dedicated volunteer, and community leader, Dan exemplifies the spirit and legacy of Lawrence County.
Dan Bortner recently retired as Director of Indiana State Parks, where he became the longest-serving State Parks Director in Indiana history. He also served as Director of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources from 2020 to 2025, having been appointed by Governor Eric Holcomb. His leadership and conservation efforts have left a lasting impact on Indiana’s natural resources and state park system.
Dan’s contributions have been recognized with prestigious honors including the Sagamore of the Wabash Award and the Circle of Corydon Award, reflecting his exceptional service to the state.
A proud resident of Bedford, Dan is currently serving his second term as a Bedford City Council At-Large member. He previously represented District 4 on the Lawrence County Council for three terms and is the President of the Green Hill Cemetery Association.
His deep commitment to the community includes past service on the boards of the Bedford Public Library, Dunn Hospital Board of Governors, Lawrence County United Way, BRI, and the Bedford Recreation Foundation. He has also dedicated over 25 years as a volunteer football coach for the Boy’s Club, mentoring generations of local youth.
​Please join us in celebrating Dan’s decades of service and dedication to Lawrence County by attending the Limestone Heritage Festival Parade, where he will be honored as this year’s Grand Marshal at the Flag Raising Ceremony on Saturday, June 28th at 5:30pm. The ceremony takes place at the corner of 16th & I Street at 5:30pm.
